Carole Ranney has been teaching and painting for over 30 years.  She has taught classes for the Wichita Center for the Arts and for Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas. She has continued her education during that time, studying with nationally recognized artists and by attending the  International School of Painting, Drawing and Sculpture in Montecastello Di Vibio, Italy .

Her more recent activities include being  one of twelve invited artists for an exhibition “Drawn to the Limit” at the Sandzen Museum in Lindsborg, Kansas and serving her 8th term as  President of the Kansas Watercolor Society.

Ranney maintains a studio in her home where she paints in oil, pastel, watercolor and acrylic mediums as well as working as a sculptor. Her paintings have won numerous awards and have been featured on posters, in magazines and in books.  

Carole has participated in over fifty regional as well as National Exhibitions from  New York to Louisiana and several states in between.
In 2005 she traveled the southwest states painting on locations in Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Kansas.

In 2006 she started a new project "The Colors of Kansas" where she will be concentrating on plein-aire, (i.e. on location) paintings of her home state of Kansas.
